Bellator light heavyweight Muhammed Lawal already owns the unique distinction of simultaneously competing in Mixed Martial Arts while serving as a professional wrestler for TNA. Now it appears “King Mo” wants to add boxing into the mix as well, expressing interest in a showdown with Kimbo Slice after running through his division’s Season 8 tournament and winning the Bellator belt.

“I think ‘King Mo’ vs. Kimbo Slice would be a good boxing match. I got good training, he’s got good training. I want to make it happen,” said Lawal in a recent conversation with Bloody Elbow. “My main goal is to get through this tournament, win it…defend the belt once or twice and after that, get that fight with Kimbo.”

The 8-1 Lawal has been a longtime fan of the sweet science though has no pro experience. However, he does have a clause in his Bellator deal allowing him to box as long as CEO Bjorn Rebney is open to the opponent.

Slice, who made a name for himself thanks to the popularity of some street fighting videos on YouTube, tested his skills at MMA over a six-fight run where he compiled a 4-2 record including a 1-1 mark in the UFC. He has since transitioned to boxing where he is currently 6-0 with five knockouts.
