The UFC has made it a point to focus on international markets over the past few years, even going so far as to create versions of the Ultimate Fighter franchise aimed at specific regions such as Australia, Brazil, and India. Though TUF 17 will unfold in the organization’s home-base of Las Vegas, it looks like the contestants will still bring a global appeal to the competition.

With less than two weeks to go before the debut episode airs, the UFC has revealed the list of fighters slated to see action along with some additional details about the upcoming season. Among them are names from Guam, Sweden, England, and Australia, as well as a handful of Mixed Martial Artists hardcore fans may be familiar with such as Bubba McDaniel, Zach Cummings, and Kevin Casey.

“The quality of guys we have this season in unbelievable,” stated UFC President Dana White in a press release. “From the fights to get into the house, to every single fight this season, I think the talent is some of the best I’ve ever seen on this show. We’re going to end up with some really good guys in the 185-pound division.”

Fourteen fights are scheduled for the show’s January 22 unveiling. Though not announced, the format implies two “wild card” spots will be awarded to result in a sixteen-man field. MMAJunkie is also reporting fighters were allowed to bring friends/family in to see them throw down in the tournament’s opening round.
