A late change has been made to the lineup for UFC on FX 7 after featherweight George Roop pulled out of a bout against Yuri Alcantara for undisclosed reasons. With less than two weeks to go before the January 19 show it would have been understandable if the UFC had let the vacancy remain unfilled, but, fortunately for fans, the organization already had a back-up plan in place.

According to SporTV, Brazilian finisher Pedro Nobre will slide into the slot and face Alcantara on the preliminary portion of the evening’s event.

Nobre is 14-1-2 with thirteen stoppages to his credit including nine by way of strikes. The 26-year old was most recently seen competing under the Bitetti Combat banner where he beat two opponents to win a single-night tournament last month.

The 28-4 Alcantara is also one of the brightest rising stars in Brazil, racking up thirteen straight wins before having the streak snapped in June when he lost a decision to Hacran Dias. 24 of his victories have featured some form of finish with an even split between TKOs/submissions.

UFC on FX 7 is headlined by a middleweight match-up featuring Michael Bisping-Vitor Belfort.
