Strikeforce lightweight Pat Healy recently expressed significant frustration with the way his career has gone over the past six months, seeing match-up after match-up fall apart for health-related reasons and being left in the dark about being brought over to the UFC when his current promotional home is dismantled in the coming weeks. However, it looks like Healy finally has an idea of who he’ll be locking horns with on January 12 at Strikeforce’s final event.

According to MMAJunkie, Healy is set for a showdown with submission-specialist Kurt Holobaugh at Strikeforce: Marquardt vs. Saffiedine.

The bout will mark the Strikeforce debut for 7-0 Holobaugh. Six of his wins have come by way of tap-out.

Healy has more than 6X Holobaugh’s experience and is unquestionably the favorite to win. “Bam Bam” holds a career mark of 28-16 and is currently on a five-fight run, earning him status as top contender to a Strikeforce belt he’ll unfortunately never have a chance to compete for.
