The UFC has been forced to make a last-second scratch from UFC 155 lineup. Fortunately, the unexpected absence is unrelated to any of the match-ups prepped to unfold in the Octagon and a replacement has already been found.

According to UFC President Dana White, lead play-by-play announcer Mike Goldberg won’t be in the booth alongside Joe Rogan to call action in the cage. The specific reason for his withdrawal is unknown but, in the words of White, “He’s taking time off and is not working this weekend. I don’t know when he will be back.”

MMAJunkie was on hand when White made the announcement at the UFC 155 weigh-ins and first to report the matter.

Stepping in for Goldberg will be Jon Anik, a familiar face from the UFC’s events on Fuel TV/FX who also hosts UFC Ultimate Insider and handles a number of other media-related obligations for the organization. The opportunity marks the first time Anik has called a PPV.
