With Strikeforce ceasing to exist as a promotion, a number of fighters signed to the organization’s roster who aren’t scheduled for action at the company’s final show in January have been slowly making their way into the Octagon. The latest example involves welterweight Bobby Voelker who fans likely remember for his rumbles with Roger Bowling.

According to UFC officials, Voelker will make his debut against Patrick Cote at UFC 158. The bout will also mark Cote’s first as a welterweight since opting to drop down from 185 pounds.

Cote holds an overall record of 18-8 including eight knockouts and three TKOs. He has found victory in five of his last six fights though his last outing involved disqualification win over Alessio Sakara after eating a number of illegal strikes to the back of his head.

Comparably, the 24-8 Voelker has scored nineteen stoppages in his career and is currently on a three-fight run.
