Brendan SchaubEven though UFC on FOX 5 saw the injury bug strike the show still turned out to be an entertaining affair, featuring finishes and fights on the level of any PPV. Though the show didn’t skip a beat, a handful of competitors originally set to see action at the December 8 event have been added to the UFC’s February 23 stop in Anaheim, California in hopes of delivering an extra boost of excitement to an already stacked lineup.

According to an official announcement, a heavyweight tilt between Brendan Schaub-Lavar Johnson will unfold at UFC 157 as well as a match-up between TUF 15 champ Michael Chiesa and Anton Kuivanen.

Schaub (8-3) and Johnson (17-6) are both knockout artists by trade, combining for 22 strike-based stoppages in 25 total victories. Both men are also coming off a first-frame loss and should be hungry to notch a convincing victory and solidify standing in the division.

Meanwhile, Chiesa is unbeaten but hasn’t fought since winning the Ultimate Fighter 15. The 8-0 Chiesa has six submissions to his credit but isn’t likely to find such a route to success against Kuivanen who is 17-5 with eight tap-outs of his own.
