It didn’t take long for Court McGee to live up to his promise after emerging from the Ultimate Fighter 11 as the season’s champion, picking up back-to-back wins in his follow-up fights. However, with losses in his last two match-ups, the 28-year old McGee has decided to drop down to welterweight and already has an opponent lined up for his divisional debut.
Known for his trademark beard and compelling backstory, the 14-3 McGee has yet to be put away in his career while dishing out ten stoppages of his own. He holds notable past wins over DaMarques Johnson, Kris McCray, and Dongi Yang.
Comparably, Neer has compiled a record of 33-12-1 in nearly a decade of competition including 17 TKOs and 12 submissions. Like McGee, “The Dentist” is also coming off a pair of consecutive clashes with each involving a first-frame finish. Prior to the slide Neer had won six straight.
UFC 157 is headlined by a title-bout between bantamweight star Ronda Rousey and tough-as-nails contender Liz Carmouche with other bouts expected to take place such as Urijah Faber-Ivan Menjivar, Brendan Schaub-Lavar Johnson, and Dan Henderson-Lyoto Machida.
