It looks like the injury bug won’t be taking New Year’s Eve weekend off, as the UFC has lost another main card clash at UFC 155 for health-related reasons. According to UFC President Dana White, co-headliner Forrest Griffin has pulled out of a fight with Phil Davis after suffering some structural damage to his knee while training for the tilt.

“Forrest has MCL tear and ACL strain,” wrote White on Twitter. “20 CCs of blood removed from his knee and the saga continues at the UFC!!”

No timetable for the former light heavyweight champion’s return was mentioned. It is also unknown if the UFC will seek a replacement, though the amount of time remaining tends to indicate the likelihood of such occurring.

UFC 155 also saw Gray Maynard and Chris Weidman drop off the card due to injury. In both cases the vacancies created by their withdrawals were filled.
