The card for the UFC’s return to Japan just grew bigger, both literally and figuratively. Though not confirmed, a bout between heavyweights Stefan Struve and Mark Hunt has been linked to the lineup, pitting two finishers riding the momentum of recent winning streaks against each other in what should be a highly entertaining tilt.

MMAWeekly was first to report the UFC on Fuel 8 match-up, revealing both sides had verbally agreed to face off at the March 2 event.

Struve has scored finishes in four straight scraps including wins over Pat Barry, Lavar Johnson, and most recently Stipe Miocic. The 25-5 Dutchman has sixteen submissions to his credit, as well as seven wins featuring a strike-based stoppage, and is considered to be on the cusp of title-contendership.

Meanwhile, Japan marks a familiar stomping ground for Hunt who made a name for himself under the PRIDE banner. He holds an overall record of 8-7 including three straight instances of success in the Octagon, his most recent of which involved a knockout of Cheick Kongo at UFC 144.
