An injury has forced a small change to the UFC’s January stop in Sao Paolo, as organization officials recently revealed relative newcomer Thiago Bodao pulled out of a planned pairing with Michael Kupier due to injury. In a move sure to leave local fans happy, the Brazilian middleweight will be replaced by one of his countrymen, Caio Magalhaes.

Magalhaes came up short on the scorecards against Buddy Roberts in his UFC debut earlier this year, though the stumble only marked the first loss of the 24-year old’s career. He holds an overall record of 5-1 with three finishes to his credit.

Comparably, the 12-1 Kupier has scored eleven stoppages including a TKO in an August outing against Jared Hamman.

The bout will make up part of the UFC on FX 7 prelims. The January 19 show is headlined by a bout between Vitor Belfort-Michael Bisping with action also expected from Thiago Tavares and Gabriel Gonzaga.
