It looks like Strikeforce isn’t done adding match-ups to their January 12 lineup featuring a title-defense from welterweight champion Nate Marquardt and action from the bulk of the organization’s stand-out scrappers. The latest tilt to be attached to the card involves lightweights Jorge Gurgel and Adriano Martins, the latter of which will be making his promotional debut.

Strikeforce officials have confirmed the clash.

Gurgel marks a familiar face to fans of Strikeforce with five straight appearances under the company’s banner including a decision win over Conor Heun. He holds an overall record of 14-8 with ten tap-outs to his credit.

Meanwhile, Martins is a relative unknown but appears to be a legitimate threat based on his success in Brazil. The 23-6 striker is currently on a four-fight winning streak and has had his hand raised in ten of his last eleven outings.
