Next week’s UFC on FOX 5 lineup has taken an injury-related hit, as the heavyweight match-up between Brendan Schaub and Lavar Johnson has been scratched. Both men are amongst the division’s hardest-hitting strikers, combining for 22 knockouts in 25 total wins, and were expected to entertain as such at the event.

The clash was cancelled as a result of Johnson pulling his groin during the final stages of preparation for the pairing. UFC President Dana White confirmed the news via Twitter late Thursday night, though no word of the organization’s plan regarding a potential replacement was mentioned.

Schaub took to Twitter to express his own ire about the fight falling apart, writing, “Frustrated would be an understatement. Back to the gym.”

The bout between Schaub-Johnson was scheduled to headline the FX-broadcast preliminary portion of the card.
