The network of MMA organizations linked to Glory Sports International grew this week when ONE FC announced they’d agreed to a partnership with the combat sports giant. As a result, both companies will share talent moving forward, leading to the likelihood of ONE FC fighters Shinya Aoki and Bibiano Fernandes taking to the ring on New Year’s Eve in Japan on a card being promoted by Glory/DREAM.

MMAWeekly was first to report the potential involvement of Aoki/Fernandes on the December 31 event. As neither has officially been inked to bouts, no potential opponents have been rumored for the respective rumbles. The show will feature a mixture of kickboxing and MMA bouts including a single-night tournament on the kickboxing side of things featuring sixteen heavyweights.

Aoki is one of the lightweight division’s top grapplers, holding an overall record of 31-6 including twenty wins by way of submission. The 29-year old has come out with his hand raised in eight of his last nine fights and has found past success against talented adversaries such as Tatsuya Kawajiri, Gesias Cavalcante, Georges Sotiropoulos, and Eddie Alvarez.

Meanwhile, the 12-3 Fernandes is a Top 10 bantamweight with a ton of success overseas. He has held titles under the DREAM banner at both 135 and 145 pounds.
