UFC welterweight Matt Riddle has spent the last few months calling out Dan Hardy in hopes of procuring a crack at beating the Brit. While Hardy hasn’t been receptive to Riddle’s challenges, one of his countrymen is more than happy to step up and silence the trash-talk.

Rising star John Hathaway recently went on Twitter where he sent a message to UFC President Dana White expressing his interest in a rumble with Riddle.

“Last week I asked my Twitter followers who they’d like to see me fight next and the resounding answer was Riddle,” wrote the 25-year old. “He doesn’t like British people, I’m British so let’s do this! I’ll even fight him in the US if he wants! What do you think?”

While White has yet to respond to Hathaway’s request, Riddle caught wind of the statement and responded affirmatively to the idea in a Tweet of his own.

“Well, well Mr. Hathaway…I accept your challenge. Call (matchmaker) Joe Silva. I’m more than happy to fight you. Let’s do it in February or March,” posted the Ultimate Fighter 7 alumnus.

Hathway (17-1) is currently on a three-fight winning streak with past triumphs over the likes of Rick Story and Diego Sanchez. Comparably, the 7-3 Riddle has experienced similar success as of late including a one-sided decision over John Maguire earlier this month at UFC 154.
