Questions surrounding former Bellator featherweight champ Joe Warren’s future in MMA will in part be answered tonight at Bellator 80 when the accomplished grappler takes to the cage against Owen Evinger. The bout is set to serve as the evening’s headliner, capping off a main card also featuring a pair of semifinal tilts from the featherweight/heavyweight tournaments.

Warren is coming off back-to-back knockout losses including a particularly brutal pasting from Pat Curran in March. The defeats dropped Warren’s record down to 7-3 though there’s little chance the 36-year old will take a safe approach to Evinger as a result considering his generally aggressive style. Evinger is also 7-3 and coming off consecutive stumbles, setting up a “must win” bout for both men.

If victorious it is likely Warren will earn a spot in the group of men competing on Season 8 for a shot at the bantamweight belt.

Meanwhile, a fantastic 145-pound match-up between Rad Martinez-Wagnney Fabiano is set to determine the man who will face Shahbulat Shamhalaev in the divisional tournament’s respective final, while the same is true of heavyweights Vinicius Queiroz-Alexander Volkov in their featured fight.

As always, Five Ounces of Pain will be tuned in and reporting real time results back to our readers as things unfold from the arena. Action kicks off at 7:00 PM EST on with MTV2/EPIX taking over an hour later.
