Two talented lightweight grapplers have agreed to action inside the Octagon at UFC on FOX 6, as a bout between Matt Wiman and T.J. Grant has been confirmed by officials for the January 26 event. Adding to the potential for an entertaining effort in the match-up, both men are riding the momentum of recent winning streaks and tend to finish foes more often than not.
The upcoming stop in Chicago is set to feature flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson putting his gold up for grabs against TUF 14 winner John Dodson in the main event, as well as fights from Donald Cerrone-Anthony Pettis and Quinton Jackson-Glover Teixeira.
The 15-6 Wiman has won five of his last six scraps including back-to-back victories over Mac Danzig and most recently Paul Sass, a submission specialist who Wiman tapped out in the opening round of action. He has also found past success over the likes of Cole Miller and Thiago Tavares.
Comparably, Grant is 3-0 since dropping down to 155 pounds with the run most notably featuring a decision win over Evan Dunham in September. Thirteen of his nineteen total triumphs have involved a submission stoppage.
