The UFC has confirmed eight of the organization’s 2013 cards including a return to New Jersey on April 27 where New York native Jon Jones will defend his light heavyweight title against Chael Sonnen. The show will take place in Newark, the very city the 25-year old won the belt in last year by beating Mauricio Rua.

The 17-1 Jones will enter the bout with an impressive winning streak including the likes of Lyoto Machida, Vitor Belfort, Quinton Jackson, and Rashad Evans. Comparably, Sonnen is coming off a TKO loss to Anderson Silva and will be a huge underdog in the controversial clash awarded for business reasons rather than in the spirit of true competition.

Also announced were four FOX cards, though the only one with an attached city is a Chicago outing on January 26 rumored to feature Anthony Pettis vs. Donald Cerrone among other bouts. Additionally, the UFC will show up on FOX on April 20, July 27, and December 14.

Finally, an international event on Fuel TV has been scheduled for February 16, while a January 19 trip to Brazil headlined by Michael Bisping-Vitor Belfort and February 2 lineup in Las Vegas with Jose Aldo-Frankie Edgar at the top were also made official.
