It looks like another Brazilian will be added to the UFC’s not-so-secret show on January 19 in the South American nation, keeping in fashion with what fans have come to expect in terms of regional products competing in front of their countrymen. This time around the name involved is lightweight Edson Barboza.

Barboza has been linked to a tilt against Justin Salas at the still-unannounced event.

TATAME was first to report the fight.

The 10-1 Barboza was seen by many as a title-contender in waiting before Jamie Varner ended the hype with a knockout in May. He holds past wins in his career over the likes of Ross Pearson, Terry Etim, and Anthony Njokuani.

Salas is 10-4 in his career with a 1-1 record inside the Octagon. Six of his victories have involved some form of stoppage.
