UFC welterweight Josh Koscheck recently listed off a handful of opponents he was interested in having a go at in the Octagon including Nick Diaz. Now it appears Diaz’s camp is willing to grant Koscheck’s wish, calling for a fight between the two in February 2013 when the former Strikeforce champion’s current suspension ends.

Koscheck broke word of the potential pairing over the weekend on Twitter, writing, “Cesar Gracie is calling for me (to) fight Diaz in February (on) Super Bowl weekend! What (do) you guys think? I am DOWN! Don’t be scared homie!”

The original Ultimate Fighter alumnus also mentioned wanting to fight sooner but looks to be willing to wait if it means a bout with Diaz. However, Diaz isn’t expected to be cleared for competition before February 4, 2013, while the UFC’s annual Super Bowl event will almost certainly take place two days prior given the game’s date.

Regardless, the bout between Koscheck-Diaz would certainly be an interesting one. Diaz recently had an eleven-fight winning streak snapped after losing a controversial decision to Carlos Condit earlier this year, while Koscheck is a former title-contender with past wins over the likes of Anthony Johnson, Matt Hughes, and Diego Sanchez.
