Two seasoned veterans who have been impressing fans since their WEC days have been booked for a bout on December 29 at UFC 155 in the form of a fight featuring Brad Pickett and Eddie Wineland. Each man is coming off an impressive knockout win and will move one step closer to challenging for a championship if successful in the showdown.

UFC officials have confirmed the match-up.

Pickett picked up a pair of finishes in both of his 2012 tilts, knocking out Yves Jabouin last month at UFC on Fuel 5 and submitting Damacio Page in his previous pairing. The 34-year old Brit holds an overall record of 22-6 including seventeen stoppages and past wins over the likes of Ivan Menjivar and Demetrious Johnson.

Wineland is also unbeaten this year, flattening Scott Jorgensen with strikes in their June scrap. The 19-8-1 Wineland is a former WEC champion, finding success against opponents such as Antonio Banuelos and George Roop in his nine-year career.

UFC 155 is set to be headlined by a heavyweight title-fight between Junior dos Santos-Cain Velasquez with a number of other notable bouts scheduled for the show as well.
