Bellator 75 Results: Brett Rogers falls short in tournament tilt

He may have entered Bellator‘s current season as the odds-on favorite to emerge in the organization’s ongoing heavyweight tournament as the last man standing, but come showtime former Strikeforce fighter Brett Rogers looked like anything but the competitor fans expected to see in action. Rogers was one of four men to fall last night at Bellator 75, struggling to show any sort of real technique against Alexander Volkov and ultimately losing a Unanimous Decision as a result.

Other heavyweights to advance with Volkov to take part in semifinal scraps were Vinicius Queiroz, Richard Hale, and Thiago Santos. The latter’s victory was the most notorious in the bunch, as Santos and Eric Prindle finally clashed inside the cage after a few other failed attempts to do so only for things to once again end in controversy after Prindle landed an illegal strike to the Brazilian’s groin and was disqualified.

  • THEGUNNER says:

Bret rogers looked pathetic. Ufc will never sign this guy.

  • darth_irritable says:

I cannot tell you how gratifying it was to see a heavyweight wife beater get utterly owned by a smaller skinnier man in the cage.

  • AlphaOmega says:

I clicked the thumbs up like 10 times for you darth..but sadly it only counts once.

Off Topic: Are we going to get the results from the CES ppv card tonight? It’s Batista’s MMA debut, along with according to the promo three very popular, fan favorite UFC veterans..who I’ve never even heard of.

  • Dufresne says:

I could watch Rogers get punched in the face for another 30 rounds and not get tired of it. I can’t stand that guy and I’ve never been impressed with his skills. Yes he can hit hard, but that’s about it.

And how about that axe kick to the happy sack from Prindle? That has to be one of the worst nut shots in MMA history.
