Canada may be playing home to a major UFC event this coming weekend but it won’t be long until the nation is hosting another show featuring championship action, as the November 17 lineup for UFC 154 in Montreal is headed by Georges St-Pierre defending his linear belt against interim title-holder Carlos Condit. In standard fashion the rest of the card is chock full of GSP’s fellow Canadians including the latest fighter from North of the Border to be booked for a bout – Nick Ring.

Ring, who hails from Calgary, has been linked to a match-up with streaking New Yorker Constantinos Philippou. The fight was first reported by the Canadian Press.

The 13-1 Ring is coming off an outpointing of Court McGee, his third win inside the Octagon since a stint on the Ultimate Fighter 11. Eight of his victories have involved a finish including six by way of submission.

Philippou holds an 11-2 career mark has been one of the middleweight division’s hottest fighters as of late. He is currently on a four-fight winning streak with success against McGee, Jared Hamman, Riki Fukuda, and Jorge Rivera.
