Last week the UFC announced highly-touted middleweight Chris Weidman would put his perfect record on the line this December 29 against surging contender Tim Boetsch. While most fighters have a chance to bask in the good news relating to a bout being made, Weidman’s mind was elsewhere after undergoing a surgical procedure on his elbow.

However, the 9-0 Weidman’s spirits remained high after doctors finished removing some bone chips, taking to Twitter to say he was “feeling great” and was excited about battling Boetsch at UFC 155.

According to a report from MMAFighting, Weidman is expected to be back at 100% in 3-6 weeks and can do light workouts as early as tomorrow.
