Unbeaten Strikeforce heavyweight Daniel Cormier finally has a date set for what will almost certainly be his final fight under the promotion’s banner before joining his divisional peers in the UFC. As expected, Cormier will face former UFC title-holder Frank Mir before year’s end but it turns out he will also do so with the added treat of competing in his old neck of the woods.

According to MMAFighting, Cormier is set to collide with Mir on November 3 in Oklahoma City. Cormier spent part of his collegiate career as a wrestler for Oklahoma State. No other bouts have been linked to the card.

UPDATE: Strikeforce officials have confirmed the date/location.

The 33-year old Cormier has emerged as one of the top heavyweights in MMA with a 10-0 record and success against the likes of Jeff Monson, Antonio Silva, and Josh Barnett. Meanwhile, the 16-6 Mir will be looking to bounce back from a loss to UFC champion Junior dos Santos but had won a trio of consecutive tilts prior to the stumble including success against Mirko Filipovic, Roy Nelson, and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.
