After toying around at featherweight it looks like former UFC fighter Tyson Griffin will return to the division he made a name for himself in for his next fight, facing a fellow Octagon veteran whose last outing took place inside the infamous eight-sided cage. According to an official announcement from Resurrection Fighting Alliance, Griffin will lock horns at lightweight with Efrain Escudero in featured action at the organization’s upcoming card on November 2.

Also scheduled to face off at the event, Gilbert Yvel (38-16-1) and Marcio Cruz (7-3) will collide in the evening’s headliner.

The bout will mark the 15-6 Griffin’s return after a year away from the ring. At one point he was considered one of the brightest 155-pounders in MMA, picking up wins against the likes of Thiago Tavares, Gleison Tibau, and Clay Guida, though times have been tougher as of late for Griffin with four losses in his last five bouts.

Escudero, who holds an overall record of 18-5 including twelve submissions, also appeared to have a bright future ahead of him after winning TUF 8 but went 2-2 over his following four fights. He then scored success in five of six before losing back-to-back decisions upon his return to the UFC.

RFA 4 is scheduled to take place in Las Vegas and will air live on Fight Now TV.
