It looks like seasoned veteran Jorge Santiago is getting another shot to secure victory under the Zuffa banner after struggling to find success in a pair of previous UFC runs, as the former Sengoku champion has been linked to a match-up with Strikeforce welterweight Quinn Mulhern on September 29 in Sacramento. Santiago has picked up back-to-back wins since his last appearance inside the Octagon.

Mulhern revealed the bout on Twitter. The card in question is currently scheduled to feature lightweight title-holder Gilbert Melendez putting his gold up for grabs against bearded brawler Pat Healy.

Santiago holds an overall record of 25-10 with 23 of the victories involving some form of finish. Among the adversaries he’s found success against are the likes of Kazuo Misaki, Mamed Khalidov, and Siyar Bahadurzada. His most recent appearances have come in Titan FC where he finished both of his 2012 opponents in the opening round of action.

The 18-2 Mulhern, a former King of the Cage champ, has come out with his hand raised the last three times he’s fought including a May decision over Yuri Villefort. Eleven of his wins have come by way of submission.
