When UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones heads down to the Octagon in a few weeks to defend his title against Dan Henderson at UFC 151 he’ll look a little different than normal. Though Jones’ physical appearance will remain unchanged, the 25-year old is sure to be sporting a Nike “Swoosh” on his apparel rather than representing a MMA brand or even that of the UFC.

According to multiple reports, Jones has inked an endorsement deal with Nike and will be part of the company’s team for the foreseeable future. MMAFighting has also confirmed Jones will also receive his own signature line of apparel as a result of the agreement and will be used in global marketing campaigns rather than those relegated to a specific country (a la Anderson Silva in Brazil).

Terms of the contract were not released though it is expected to last multiple years and is likely worth millions.

Nike’s brand is synonymous with sporting excellence, serving as sponsors for some of the most elite athletes in the world including Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Tiger Woods, and Michael Jordan as well as teams in a variety of leagues around the world.
