Ultimate Fighter 14 winner Diego Brandao appears poised for a return to the ring on October 13 when the UFC stops in his native Brazil for UFC 153. The 25-year old slugger went on Twitter earlier today where he announced he’d signed to fight at the event with Joey Gambino serving as his opponent.

Brandao is 14-8 in his career with twelve finishes including eight by way of strikes. However, he is only 1-1 inside the Octagon, coming up short on the scorecards in his follow-up performance after winning TUF 14.

Gambino also suffered a stumble in his last outing, tapping out to a Guillotine Choke, but had won all nine of his fights leading up to the bout. Like Brandao, Gambino also has a propensity for putting foes away with eight instances of success involving some form of stoppage.

UFC 153 is headlined by Jose Aldo defending his featherweight title against Erik Koch with other notable match-ups including Glover Teixeira-Quinton Jackson and Alan Belcher-Vitor Belfort.
