Less than a week after announcing the bout, the UFC has been forced to find a replacement for flyweight Ian McCall after the 28-year old withdrew from a UFC on FOX 4 fight with newcomer John Moraga due to injury. No specifics were offered about McCall’s health though he is not expected to miss an extended period of time as a result of the affliction.

Replacing McCall will be 9-2 Ulysses Gomez who, like Moraga, will be making his Octagon debut at the August 4 event. Gomez is best known for his high-level grappling, racking up seven submissions including a pair in his previous two pairings. Comparably, Moraga is 10-1 with half of his victories involving some form of tap-out.

UFC on FOX 4 is headlined by a bout between light heavyweights Mauricio Rua-Brandon Vera with other bouts including Joe Lauzon-Jamie Varner and Ryan Bader-Lyoto Machida.
