Earlier today Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira became the latest fighter scheduled for action at UFC 149 to be forced off the July 21 card. The 36-year old Nogueira, who was set to collide with Cheick Kongo, withdrew based on lingering issues with his surgically repaired arm.

However, it appears Kongo will still compete at Calgary-bound show with 13-3 Shawn Jordan stepping up to face the Frenchman.

Sherdog was first to report the situation. No confirmation has come from the UFC at this point.

Nogueira has a long history of health-related problems including a broken arm he suffered in a December loss to Frank Mir. He has only fought three times since the start of 2010.

Jordan made his UFC debut in March after a pair of appearances in Strikeforce. He has stopped twelve of the opponents he’s beaten with Lavar Johnson and Oli Thompson being he latest two victims.

Over the past few weeks UFC 149 has suffered the loss of a main event between Jose Aldo-Erik Koch as well as match-ups featuring Thiago Alves, Michael Bisping, and Mauricio Rua.
