The UFC bolstered its bantamweight ranks today with the signing of talented Brazilian Bibiano Fernandes and isn’t wasting any time when it comes to scheduling the 11-3 former DREAM champion.

According to UFC officials, Fernandes will make his Octagon debut on July 21 at UFC 149 where he’ll face 8-1 Roland Delorme. Delorme is currently 2-0 under the UFC’s banner since his stint on TUF 14.

Fernandes was last seen winning the DREAM Bantamweight Grand Prix with a pair of wins this past New Year’s Eve including a knockout of Zuffa veteran Antonio Banuelos. He has won ten of his last eleven fights with success against a number of notable adversaries such as Joe Warren, Masakazu Imanari, Hiroyuki Takaya, and Joachim Hansen.

The bout between Delorme-Fernandes should round out the lineup for UFC 148 as the twelfth tussle on the Canadian card. The show is headlined by a featherweight title-fight between champion Jose Aldo and challenger Erik Koch.
