The UFC announced a major move into Canada today starting on July 21 (UFC 149) with the organization’s first event in Calgary. The show will then be followed by a stop in Toronto on September 22 (UFC 152) and a final card in Montreal on November 17 (UFC 154). The promotion also plans to repeat the trio in 2013, giving MMA fans in the Great White North a lot to look forward to in the near future.

While the organization is still developing the Calgary lineup given the amount of time still left, UFC President Dana White did reveal it would be headlined by Jose Aldo although no opponent has been set. More match-ups are expected to be announced in a month.

Interestingly enough, November is also the month welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre has been rumored for a return from knee surgery, setting things up for a potential title-unification bout between GSP and Carlos Condit. During the press conference St. Pierre mentioned his rehab has been going well and expected to be training full-speed in July.
