Last week the Bellator featherweights put on a show with four men advancing to the semifinal round of the Season 6 tournament. Tonight the middleweights had their turn as eight men competed to move one step closer to a shot at the divisional title.

Familiar faces Brian Rogers, Vitor Vianna, Giva Santana, and Victor O’Donnell returned to the ring tonight at Bellator 61, while talented newcomers like Vyacheslav Vasilevsky and Maiquel Falcao made an impact in debut performances.

The evening started out strong with Rogers delivering a “Knockout of the Year” contender after staggering Vianna with a punch, then following up with a brutal knee to send the Brazilian spilling backwards to the canvas, out cold. Joining Rogers in the semifinal round will be Bruno Santos and Vyacheslav Vasilevsky who both pulled off decision upsets over veterans Santana and O’Donnell respectively, as well as tourney-favorite Falcao who looked sharp en route to outpointing Norman Paraisy.
