It looks like there’s one more heavyweight to add to the list of “big name” big-boys who were booked for action over the past week. According to multiple sources, Fabricio Werdum will face Mike Russow in mid-June when the UFC stops in Sao Paolo for their latest Brazilian event. Werdum had publicly lobbied for an opportunity to fight in his native country since re-joining the UFC and will seemingly get his wish based on the rumored bout.

MMAFighting was first to report the match-up though the UFC has yet to confirm anything is officially in place.

While Russow may not match Werdum in terms of fame, few can match the 35-year old’s current winning streak which he improved to eleven straight with a win over Jon Olav Einemo in January. He holds an overall record of 15-1 including four victories inside the Octagon.

The 15-5 Werdum is also coming off a win, having outpointed Roy Nelson at UFC 143 in a highly-entertaining affair. He has also found past success inside the ring against Antonio Silva, Gabriel Gonzaga, and Fedor Emelianenko.
