It looks like Dennis Siver will indeed take to the Octagon in Stockholm, Sweden when the UFC stops there this spring for UFC on Fuel 2 but not against Ross Pearson as had originally been rumored. Rather, the 33-year old kickboxer will make his featherweight debut against Nova Uniao product Diego Nunes at the show where each man’s balanced attack should result in a fantastic fight once the cage door closes.

The Siver-Nunes match-up was first reported by Swedish outlet MMANytt and has since been confirmed by MMAJunkie.

Nunes is coming off a victory against Manny Gamburyan at UFC 141 after coming up short against Kenny Florian in his previous effort. The 17-2 Brazilian also holds wins under the Zuffa banner over Raphael Assuncao and Mike Brown.

While the bulk of Siver’s success has come at 155 pounds, finding success against the likes of Spencer Fisher and George Sotiropoulos, a recent loss to Donald Cerrone prompted the 19-8 competitor to drop down in weight. However, a win over Nunes would certainly establish Siver as an immediate threat in the division.

UFC on Fuel 2 is scheduled for April 14 and will be headlined by surging Swede Alexander Gustafsson taking on seasoned veteran Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.
