Fabricio WerdumEight champions have been crowned in Barcelona, Spain as part of the latest edition of the Abu Dhabi Combat Club.

ADCC is a submission tournament held every two years from various platforms ranging across the globe featuring the most dangerous ground fighters in the business.

The event featured a variety of notable mixed martial artists, including Strikeforce heavyweight Fabricio Werdum who ended up grabbing championship honors in the 218+ pound category.

TUF veteran Vinny Magalhaes came just shy of earning championships in the -218 pound category and the Absolute Division, instead picking up third place in both competitions.

Jeff Monson ended up scoring third place in the 218+ pound division, while Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos also placed third in the women’s 132+ pound tournament.

The big winner of the event was Bráulio Estima from Brazil, who was ultimately crowned the 2009 Absolute ADCC Champion. Estima currently has plans to make his mixed martial arts debut in the near future.
