The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced Friday that it has scheduled its historic UFC 100 event to take place on Saturday, July 11 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.
Ticket information is still forthcoming and no bouts have been officially announced by the company.
Reported bouts expected to take place at UFC 100 include Georges St. Pierre defending the UFC welterweight title vs. number one contender Thiago Alves as well as rival coaches from the upcoming ninth season of The Ultimate Fighter Dan Henderson and Michael Bisping squaring off in a middleweight matchup.
It is also possible that a heavyweight title unification bout between Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir that had been scheduled for May 23 at UFC 98 could also be scheduled for UFC 100 as well.
MMAWeekly.com also reported Friday that a lightweight bout between Matt Grice and Shannon Gugerty is expected for the event’s undercard. Other rumored bouts include Stephan Bonnar vs. Mark Coleman and Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Alan Belcher.
