During a recent interview on the CBS Radio nationally syndicated show “MMAsh,” UFC President Dana White contradicted the public perception on some of his positions.

In a previous post on FiveOuncesOfPain.com, White’s stated feelings towards competitors of the UFC was outlined. While many insist White is anti-competition, White disagreed and said he was only against competition that he felt was bad for the sport.

Another common conception regarding White is that he’s not a big fan of the MMA fanbase on the Internet. That couldn’t be further from the truth, according to White.

“… I love it,” White said regarding the MMA community that exists on message forums. “I love that stuff. I’ve never hated them.”

Some of the confusion regarding White’s supposed disdain for the Internet could stem from the fact that he’s not the biggest fan of some of the online MMA media that’s currently in existence.

“There are certain MMA web sites… you know, the media, not the fans,” he said. “The fans get on there and I love it. I do read it. I read it and I look through it and I always have. Some of it makes sense and is real good stuff; there is some stuff on there that is so stupid it’s insane; and there’s tons of stuff on there that’s hilarious and funny. I love it. I think it’s great.”

So has White ever been tempted to sign onto a forum and post under an assumed name?

“No, I’ve never done that,” said White. “I’ve never done that ever (because) if you do that under a fake name they can find out who you are. They know who you are. They know your e-mail address and where it’s coming from. I would never do that. That’s not my style anyway. That’s not who I am. If I go on there, I go on there as me. Believe me, I’ve been on there before and said some crazy [expletive] and argued with people and everything else. I would never go on under a fake name.”
