I wanted to let everyone know that there will be no Inside the Cage Radio this week.

Due to family commitments on both the part of Matt and I, we just couldn’t schedule a good time this week. I won’t make Matt’s personal business public but I can tell you that I spent a good portion of today after my ESPN 920 show watching a Jiu-Jitsu/Grappling tournament at Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu United in Jenkintown, PA.

Both my son and I train there but it was my wife that actually competed. She goes to the Miletich affiliate in Philadelphia and competes on their Muay Thai team but I’ve been so been and unable to go to classes at BJJ United, that they were gracious enough to let her stand in for me.

Well, she’s only had a few BJJ classes yet somehow managed to win her division today! She never ceases to amaze me. As most of you know, she won her division at the WKAs in Virginia for Muay Thai this summer. She had very little interest in grappling so you could say her win today was a pretty big upset. Man, I’ve got to convince her to start training towards a pro MMA career. It just makes me realize I need to get my ass in gear and get back to training. There’s no way I could do pro MMA but I could at least go back to competing in low-level amateur matches with the goal of competing in higher-level MMA bouts. There just isn’t enough damn time in a day!

But Matt and I want everyone to know we remain committed to Inside the Cage Radio and it isn’t going anywhere. In fact, we have some pretty big plans that we hope to be sharing with you in the weeks to come. We’ve received so much positive feedback thus far and Matt and I have had so much fun doing it that I can ensure you things are only going to get bigger.

The good news is that Luke Thomas from BloodyElbow.com has been kind enough to allow Matt and I exercise our radio itch this week by having us on as guests on a special edition of Any Given Saturday this Monday night at 8 p.m. ET. Bart Palaszewski from the IFL’s Quad Cities Silverbacks will also be on the show as he makes final preparations for this week’s IFL team finals in Hollywood, Fla. I’m sure Luke, Matt, and I will also be previewing UFC 76. It should be a fun show. There will also be a call-in number for everyone to reach the show and ask questions since Luke’s show airs live.
