The IFL has confirmed that Ian “The Machine” Freeman will become a head coach of an IFL team that will represent the UK. According to, Freeman made an announcement about joining the IFL on Tuesday’s edition of the Stephen Quadros show.

The IFL had announced last year that they had their sights on having a UK-based team, however, IFL co-owner and Kurt Otto has indicated during recent interviews that the team-based MMA promotion is unlikely to expand beyond 12 teams in the immediate future.

Otto has recently said that some existing teams could be relocated and that some coaching changes could be in the works, making it likely that Freeman will be assuming control over an existing fight franchise.
