ESPN Proclaims Ronda Rousey “Best Female Athlete Ever”

Ronda Rousey

It wasn’t a scientific approach to deciding the winner, but Ronda Rousey can add another notch on her ever-growing belt.

ESPN W proclaimed the UFC female bantamweight champion the “Best Female Athlete Ever” following an online poll.

Rousey received 52-percent of the votes in the finals vs. top-seed and tennis great Serena Williams. Rousey was unseeded in the 32-field bracket, going through Missy Franklin, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Diana Taurasi and Florence Griffith-Joyner on her way to the finals.

She was the lone MMA fighter in the field, which also included Michelle Akers, Hope Solo, Steffi Graf, Mia Hamma and Danica Patrick.
