Ronda Rousey Says She Won’t Coach TUF Again “For All The Money in The World”

Ronda Rousey

So, remember when Ronda Rousey coached TUF 18? And coached opposite Miesha Tate? Well, clearly that experience has soured the bantamweight champ on doing the show ever again.

You may recall that when the show aired back in 2013, the consensus was that Tate swelled her fan base, while “Rowdy”, well, not so much. Following the show, Rousey maintained that the show cast her in the villain role, which is likely why she’s dead set on doing the show again (Rousey went on to defeat Tate for a second time following the show).

Rousey appeared on the latest edition of “The MMA Hour”, at a time when there are rumors, apparently, that she could coach opposite Cris “Cyborg” on TUF. When Rousey was asked about doing the show however, the Judoka stated (quote via MMA

“I’m never doing Ultimate Fighter ever again,” Rousey said. “Everyone in the UFC, in the Ultimate Fighter, everyone on earth knows I’ll never do that show ever again for all the money in the world.”

“You’d have to hold my little sister at gunpoint to get me to do that show again”

Okay then. Looks like no one should plan on seeing a Rousey-Cyborg TUF commercial any time soon. Of course, things can change, particularly when piles of dollar bills get thrown into the mix…

All this aside, Rousey is set to fight Bethe Correia at UFC 190, which will take place on August 1st in Rio de Janeiro.

Cyborg is scheduled to compete at Invicta FC 13 on July 10th, against an opponent to be determined.

Can’t blame her one bit. That show really damaged her reputation, exposing a lack of maturity she shares with her coach, Edmund. Apart from their behavior on TUF, I don’t think I would have any reason to dislike either of them.

  • THEGUNNER says:

No matter how good she never had to survive in a division like ww or mw in the men’s department. Her compitition is way thinner. I think tuf should bring in guys who don’t know much like a boxer or just bjj guys and show that they can be trained in mma and compete at a high level.

  • THEGUNNER says:

I’ve seen video of her competing in judo and is by far not as dominent as she is with all these other ladies in mma that dont have 1/4 the experience and skills she has. Easy to be the best when everyone else is sub par.

My favorite part of her tough season was when Edmund ran his mouth and was about to get beat down by Tates guest coach Dennis Hallman. That was great tv. Not that I dislike Edmund but to see a guy run his mouth then realize he was going to get thumped was great.
