The MMA world will finally get to hear what Jon Jones has to say about the fact he tested positive for cocaine metabolites last month, as the UFC star recently did an exclusive interview with FOX Sports.
The network has released a brief clip from the interview, which will air in its entirety during FOX Sports Live on Monday night. In the preview posted below, Jones can be viewed saying:
“I’m not a cocaine addict by any means, or I’m not a frequent user. I just made a really dumb decision and just really got caught with my pants down in this whole situation.”
In the interview, Jones was reportedly asked about his recent rehab stint, which also grabbed headlines last week. The reason being that it was reported Jones stayed at a rehab facility for just one night, but UFC President Dana White has said there’s more to the story, and that the champ will clear things up in that respect.
Jones will reportedly be in attendance for today’s AFC Championship game, since his brothers, Arthur and Chandler, play for the Colts and Patriots respectively.
The UFC Light-Heavyweight Champ failed a pre-fight drug test in December, but since cocaine metabolites are not a banned, out-of-competition substance, Jones was allowed to fight at UFC 182. The renowned fighter worked his way to a unanimous decision win over Daniel Cormier at the January 3rd card.
