A pair of middleweights looking to get back into the hunt will square off this February at Bellator 133, as Alexander Shlemenko meets Melvin Manhoef.
Set for February 13 from Fresno, California and the Save Mart Center, the Shlemenko-Manhoef contest will comprise the main event.
“You take Melvin Manhoef and Alexander Shlemenko, two fighters with a combined 56 knockout victories between them, and put them in a cage, and you know exactly what you’re going to get,” Coker said. “These two fighters have both been known to stand in the pocket and trade bombs. This will be an absolute firefight, and we’ve got a number of other great fights planned for the card that we’ll be announcing very soon.”
Shlemenko (50-9) recently dropped the middleweight title to Brandon Halsey when he was submitted, losing via submission for the second straight time. Earlier this year, he lost to Tito Ortiz in a non-title bout.
Manhoef (29-12-1) was in control of Joe Schilling last month before getting knocked out. He is 2-1 in his last three.
So far, this is the only bout announced for the card.
