Jesse Taylor and Joe Ray have been entered into the BattleGrounds MMA one-night, eight-man welterweight tournament set for October 3 from Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The event will air on pay-per-view, with former UFC title contender Chael Sonnen and long-time WWE announcer Jim Ross handling the color and play-by-play duties. Taylor and Ray are replacing Dennis Hallman and Chris Honeycutt.

“We are thrilled to bring two more highly accomplished competitors like Jesse and Joe into the tournament fold, and are excited by the increased number of potential outcomes that their addition creates for this incredible, one-night event,” said BattleGrounds MMA president and Olympic wrestling gold medalist Kenny Monday.

Taylor (27-10) has competed for the UFC, Strikeforce, DREAM and the World Series of Fighting. He is a former All-American and standout wrestler at Cal State Fullerton. Ray (11-3) owns seven knockout and four submission wins to his credit.

The rest of the tournament bracket includes Cody McKenzie, Brock Larson, Luigi Fioravanti, David Mitchell, Roan Carneiro and Trey Houston.

This looks like fun, some decent fighters as well, tough to bet against Jesse Taylor though

I always did like Roan Carniero and remember his fight against Jon Fitch where Roan dominated round 1 striking and grappling but held a choke for like 2 minutes and blew his cardio, I always thought he could go far if he planned better.

I remember that guy Burns, the one who poked Rumble in the eye, submitted Roan with a triangle, huge upset at the time. Awesome grappler though
