Noad Lahat did something not many other UFC fighters can say: discuss his life on CNN.
Lahat, who recently earned his first win inside the Octagon, appeared on “Newsroom” to discuss his decision to leave the U.S. and return to help fight for Israel.
You can hear the entire interview with Lahat below. Lahat stated that his reason for deciding to return are his own, and to help out his family and friends.
“It’s by choice,” he said. “They can’t call me if I’m not there, but the second they called my friends, I got my ticket and said, ‘I’m ready to go back.’
“You can’t achieve peace without being ready for war. If people are attacking you and they’re not going to stop until you’re dead, then you have to go and fight. There’s no other way.”
Lahat previously served three-plus years in the Israeli army. Both of his parents are former generals, while his older brother and sister have also served.
