Michael Bisping Sounds Off On Number Of Subjects

Michael Bisping

If FOX Sports officials were hoping to get a choir boy when they brought in Michael Bisping to guest host “UFC Tonight” Wednesday, they were disappointed.

Knowing “The Count,” they knew what he would present. And Bisping delivered, firing off shots in regards to the Nevada Athletic Commission’s decisions on Chael Sonnen and Vitor Belfort, his upcoming opponent Cung Le and a possible match with Luke Rockhold.

Sonnen was dealt a two-year suspension by the NAC on Wednesday, while Belfort received a temporary fight license. Both failed previous drug tests this year given by the board.

“Chael is paying the price for his wrong doing,” Bisping said. “It seems like Vitor got off scott-free. At the end of the day, he’s a 38-year-old guy who looks better than he did at 27. He’s obviously a hard-working guy.”

Bisping will face Le, a former Strikeforce champion, later this year in China. The Brit is coming off a loss to Tim Kennedy via decision and is 2-3 in his last five overall.

“This is the type of fight I really need. I want to put on a good display and there’s no one better than Cung Le,” Bisping said. “I really felt that I haven’t put on my best performance to the best of my ability. I promise the fans I’m going to give them the fight I know I can deliver.

“I don’t want to be in the Top-110, I want to be No. 1. I’m not here for the money. I’m a competitor. I want to win. I want to prove to the world I’m the best.”

After Le, Bisping would gladly welcome a fight with another former Strikeforce champion in Rockhold. The two have shared verbal barbs for the better part of a year now.

“When Luke Rockhold is done making a (expletive) out of himself, hanging out at pool parties with teenagers, if he wants to get back to business and step into the Octagon, I’m the man for the job,” he said. “After his last fight, he called me out. But then he said he hurt his little pinky toe. If his toe’s healed up, and he wants to get back to business, we can go toe to toe, or pinky to pinky.”

    Still think Bisping beat Sonnen

  • Screenplaya says:

Rece Rock, so do I and so did Chael at the time.

  • Dufresne says:

    Still think Bisping beat Sonnen

  • fanoftna33 says:

Yep I thought so as well.

i actually thought Michael should have beat Rashad all those years ago, he was just too pensive to let his hands go, worried about Rashad’s take downs. rightly so, as Rashad held him down for a decision. but i bet he regrets not letting go now. I think he could have won a lot more of the decisions that went against him if he’d pushed the action more

I liked that fight was super clise as well, but it was a shitty way to win for Evans as he did nothing but hold bisping down the few times he did get him down.
