Urijah Faber has heard all the talk of a possible collision with Team Alpha Male partner T.J. Dillashaw for the UFC bantamweight title.
Following a win this past weekend over Alex Caceres, though, Faber prefers to test his skills against someone else. “The California Kid” submitted Caceres at UFC 175, remaining unbeaten in non-title fights throughout his career.
“There are all sorts of tough guys I’d like to fight,” Faber said, during the post-fight show. “Kid Yamamoto. I’ve been asking for that for a long time.”
Yamamoto is expected to be in action later this year when the UFC returns to Japan, and Faber admitted during the post-fight press conference that he was also interested in fighting on that card.
As for taking on Dillashaw, that is something the friends would discuss down the road.
“I’m ranked No. 2. I fight because I love doing it. I don’t do it for the money,” he said. “If someone had a billion dollars and wanted to make it worth it for both of us, I’d talk to him. But I don’t want to fight him.”
