UFC 172 is now official, including the light heavyweight world title main event, as the fighters stepped to the scale earlier today in Baltimore.
Jon Jones, the reigning champion, weighed in at 205 pounds, while his challenger, Glover Teixeira, tipped the scales at 205.
Jones locked eyes with Teixeira, something he does not typically do when they square off.
“I’m going to give it my best and I’m predicting a victory,” Jones said.
Both Arthur and Chandler Jones, Jon’s brothers, were in attendance and on-stage with him. Both are current NFL players.
Teixeira stated that “Jon is a great fighter, great champion, but I am going to take that belt away from him.”
The card takes place Saturday night, with fights airing on UFC Fight Pass, FOX Sports 1 and pay-per-view. Other main cards fights include Phil Davis vs. Anthony Johnson, Luke Rockhold vs. Tim Boetsch, Jim Miller vs. Yancy Medeiros and Andre Fili vs. Max Holloway.
FightLine will have complete coverage of the entire card, including all your pre- and post-fight news and information.
